The Triple-i Initiative showcase recently featured 40 independent games during a 45-minute stream. Alongside updates for previously anticipated titles such as The Talos Principle 3 and Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, the event highlighted an array of newly announced indie projects planned for Steam.

Puzzle adventures and horror titles

Among the featured games is developer Amanita Design’s Machinarium 2, a sequel to the 2009 puzzle adventure cult classic Machinarium, which continues to feature hand-drawn art. In the psychological horror genre, developer 12AM Blackout introduced Jiaohun, a surreal debut described as a trip through a unique version of hell. Meanwhile, Critical Reflex is publishing Militsioner, an immersive sim from Mouthwashing publisher that tasks players with evading a giant police officer looming over a city.

Card battling and strategy projects

Other revealed titles explore different gameplay mechanics and historical settings:

  • Lazare’s Sacrifice: Developed in collaboration with Gwent creator Damien Monnier, this card-battling game serves as a retelling of the French Revolution.
  • Prison of Husks: Created by developer Glass Head Dolls, this upcoming Soulslike employs fuzzy polygons to mimic the visual style of a FromSoftware game running on a PlayStation 2.
  • Gods With Badges: Developer Strange Scaffold follows up on its previous tactics work with a turn-based strategy game focusing on themes of policing and responsibility.
