‘Arithmadtic’ heads Busan slate
Vietnamese company Bee Entertainment is introducing a genre-heavy slate of projects to buyers at the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) during the Busan International Film Festival, led by the psychological horror feature “Arithmadtic.”
Set in an elite international school styled after the Dark Academia aesthetic, “Arithmadtic” (“Cong Tru Nhan Chia” in Vietnamese) follows a transfer student’s bond with a teacher amid a series of supernatural incidents. The film stars Anh Thu, Lam Thanh My, Phuong Tra My, Chu Anh Tuan, Cong Ninh, Hoang Minh Hung, and Dac Thang. It is directed by Irving Ly and is scheduled to open in January 2027.
2027 feature film lineup
Bee Entertainment’s feature slate comprises four films slated for release across 2027. Following “Arithmadtic,” Tran Nhan Kien directs “The Step-Mother,” which follows a boy dealing with the loss of his father and his evolving relationship with his stepmother; it is scheduled for the second quarter of the year.
Pom Nguyen, director of “The Corpse” franchise, is returning with “How to Find a Fortune in 60 Days,” an action, comedy, and family drama slated for the third quarter. The company’s film slate concludes with Le Ha Nguyen’s “Dealing With a Ghost,” a horror romantic comedy scheduled for release in the fourth quarter.
Television projects and market context
Alongside its feature films, Bee Entertainment is presenting three long-form television dramas. “The Unrecognized Heir,” an 80-episode family drama directed by Trac Huynh Nhat Tan, began airing on VTV9 in December 2025. Trac also directs the 80-episode romance “Destined to Find You,” which is in post-production, while Dang Minh Quoc directs “A Deal With God,” a 65-episode family, comedy, and fantasy series.
The company is seeking partners for investment, co-development, distribution, and rights licensing at the market. The presentation coincides with growth in the domestic sector, following a 2025 period in which local films grossed more than VND3 trillion ($114 million) in Vietnam, outperforming international titles at home.
