Following an information drought regarding Game Freak’s Pokémon Winds and Waves, a new batch of leaks shared online has provided players with early gameplay, maps, and character models. Game Freak did not mention the monster-collecting RPG during the franchise’s yearly event, and no 10th-generation news emerged from 30th Anniversary announcements.
Origins of the data trove
The latest wave of information was published online by Pokémon influencer Centro Leaks. According to Centro Leaks, the material originates from Game Freak’s 2024 “Terraleak” data breach, which outlined plans for a decade of Pokémon games. Leakers have shared a steady stream of information about Winds and Waves throughout 2026.
Maps and character models
The recent leaks include terrain footage, potential full-game maps, and character models. Centro shared an image of the game’s unnamed Elite Four champion featuring multiple 3D models depicting the character at different stages of life, leading fans to speculate about time travel or a time skip.
Other leaked media shows a full map featuring numerous islands and subregions. According to Centro, a three-minute trailer for the game was shot on a single land mass containing 11 separate locations, including a jungle, a research facility, starter locations, and a grass-type gym. Insiders caution that the images date from around 2023 or 2024, when the title was still being developed for the original Switch, meaning visual elements appear rougher than the final product and may change.
