All classes and unlock requirements in Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave

A complete guide to character classes, tiers, and unlock requirements in Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave.

Character progression in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is structured across multiple tiers, spanning beginner, specialty, advanced, master, and divine classes. Players must navigate renown thresholds, specific quests, and skill rank requirements to unlock advanced capabilities.

Changing classes and beginner tiers

Every character begins in a beginner class, categorized as either commoner or noble, and earns a class mastery skill. Advancing to specialized tiers requires reaching specific renown thresholds and purchasing certification exams. Because the game autosaves before exam results, players are advised to delay taking exams until reaching a high passing probability, typically 75% or higher, where character level heavily influences success.

Beginner classes unlock automatically as players progress through each Flame Lord’s story, though certification licenses remain necessary for exams. Specialty classes unlock at renown level four with an ideal level of 20, containing no secret classes.

Advanced and master classes

Advanced classes become available at renown level eight with an ideal level of 35. This tier includes route-specific options that, once unlocked, become available across other routes. Requirements vary from completing specific character requests—such as the “Great Dancer’s Successor” request for the Dancer class or upgrading combat arts for the Blacksmith class—to automatic unlocks.

Master classes become available at the start of Part 3, with a recommended level of 45. While some Master-tier options unlock automatically, others require players to complete quests for specific deities and rebuild their temples. These classes provide enhanced stats and specialized combat arts.

Divine classes

Divine classes represent the highest tier in the game. Unlocking them requires locating a diadem item inside shrines and specific dungeons accessed via the Diadem Temple in Part 3 Section 4. Once unlocked, Divine classes function similarly to the Dancer class, with the restriction that only one character can occupy each Divine class at a time. Players can reassign the class by moving the granting item to another character.
