The upcoming season 2 update for Wardogs introduces an in-game gambling feature that lets players wager on their own performance. Operating within the game’s cash-based economy, players can use a new wager vendor to increase stakes upon respawning.
Performance wagers and live tracking
According to the season 2 patch notes, players can build slips based on intended actions and accepted conditions that restrict gameplay in exchange for better odds. While these conditions increase potential payouts, breaking them causes the wager to fail.
To monitor these bets, a permanent live wager tracker appears above the minimap on the heads-up display, showing staked amounts and ongoing progress. Developer Bulkhead stated in a press release that the feature represents an experimental early access addition that may be expanded, altered, or removed throughout the season if it proves overly exploitable.
Faction updates and team-switching restrictions
Season 2 also addresses the under-performance of the Lonestar blue team by providing cash and XP win bonuses, alongside teamplay action multipliers. Lonestar uniforms have been desaturated for reduced visibility, and faction spawns on Bakurani have been relocated with purpose-built routes to control zones.
Additional adjustments apply across all maps:
- Losing teams trailing the second-place team by at least 40 points receive a 20% vendor discount.
- Players cannot switch teams for 15 minutes once a team leads by more than 10 points.
- Mid-match team switches or joins obscure the map until the player reaches the control zone.
- Spawn vehicles remain unusable until the control zone is reached for the first time.
Environment and balance changes
Weather updates bring a new rain preset complete with thunder loud enough to mask footsteps and gunfire. The update introduces four new weapons, four new vehicles, three new buildables, and Molotov cocktails.
Balance changes include a reduction in damage reduction for level four armor and helmets from 65% to 60%. Super heavy helmets now feature muffled audio, a restricted field of view, and fogging when sprinting. High-caliber round base damages have been reduced, scout rifles have been buffed to allow one-shot kills against level one helmets, and parachutes have been nerfed with longer deployment times and a $500 baseline cost. Finally, drills have been adjusted to operate for shorter durations at higher fuel costs to discourage multi-drill rig builds.
