International sales secured for supernatural feature
V Studios, the Vietnamese production arm of Korean exhibitor CJ CGV, has concluded multiple territory deals for its supernatural fantasy film Red Woman. The feature marks V Studios’ first fully in-house produced film.
Among the transactions, Mockingbird Pictures acquired rights for the United States and Canada, while NewGates Corporation secured the film for Japan. Additional agreements include Infinity Entertainment for Australia and New Zealand, NK Contents for South Korea, and Westec Media for Cambodia.
Red Woman is scheduled for a theatrical release in Vietnam on November 27, 2026, with subsequent international rollouts planned.
Cast and creative team
Directed by Jack Carry On with Tam Tuong serving as executive producer, the film reimagines a figure from Vietnamese oral culture and collective memory. V Studios noted that unlike many established figures in Asian mythology, the elusive character has lacked a definitive origin story or appearance, providing filmmakers room to build an original cinematic mythology.
Starring Minh Hang, the project marks the actress’s return to cinema following a three-year hiatus. Her previous credits include theatrical titles Sweet Trap and Sister Sister 2, as well as the Netflix release Naked Truth.
The ensemble cast also features Rima Thanh Vy, Nhat Kim Anh, Khuong Le, Phat La, and Dai Nghia.
Company background
V Studios was previously known as V Pictures when it launched at Busan two years prior. Alongside its in-house productions, the company handles international sales for titles it has invested in as well as third-party films, including horror features such as Ma Da: The Drowning Spirit, The Corpse, and The Corpse 2.
