The attack and robbery
Actor Keegan Allen, known for his role in Pretty Little Liars, was attacked and robbed by masked assailants in West Hollywood, according to statements from the actor and law enforcement. The incident occurred outside the Laurel Supply grocery store on the 8400 block of Santa Monica Boulevard.
Allen shared a video on social media showing blood streaming down the left side of his face and neck. In the clip, the 37-year-old actor stated that two individuals struck him in the head and pointed a gun and a knife at him before fleeing with his watch. Surveillance footage accompanying his post showed two men confronting Allen near an open pickup truck, with one holding a knife and the other holding a pistol. The footage depicted Allen unclasping his watch before being struck in the head with the pistol and backing away as the attackers swung at him again.
Law enforcement response
The Los Angeles county sheriff’s department confirmed it is investigating the violent robbery. According to the agency’s statement, the robbers demanded a watch and bracelet at knifepoint and gunpoint, and one of the suspects pistol-whipped the victim, causing a forehead laceration, before fleeing in a car with the watch.
First responders medically evaluated Allen at the scene but did not transport him to a hospital, though Allen later indicated on social media that he suspected he had a concussion and sought hospital care. The sheriff’s major crimes bureau is handling the investigation and asked anyone with information to contact the West Hollywood station.
