Following the Pokémon 30th Anniversary releases, the Pokémon Trading Card Game is introducing a new expansion called Delta Reign. Centered around Rayquaza, the set includes special illustration cards and a two-card Stadium mechanic.
Pre-release events and availability
While standard release routes involve waiting for drops from The Pokémon Center or major retailers, players can access the set weeks ahead of its official November 6 release date by attending official pre-release events. The Pokémon Company has launched its Delta Reign events page, allowing players to locate participating local stores.
Ticket prices for these events vary by location. For example, one local card shop charges $39.99 for entry. Participating in an event requires learning how to play an abridged version of the Pokémon TCG format.
What attendees receive
Event tickets grant participants a Build and Battle box, which includes:
- A pre-built deck
- A Delta Reign promotional card
- Three booster packs
Players who stay and play additional matches receive extra packs, with some shops awarding additional packs for match winners. Attendees can acquire at least six packs and 40 additional set-exclusive cards through this format.
Exclusive promotional cards for Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus, and Kommo-o are distributed exclusively through these events. Additionally, Delta Reign introduces cards featuring physical embroidery artwork by artist Tayu.
