Hello Games has announced that its long-running sci-fi exploration game No Man’s Sky is expanding to iOS, with versions for both the iPhone and iPad set to launch on October 28th.
The full experience on mobile
According to Sean Murray of Hello Games, the mobile release delivers the complete game rather than a scaled-down edition. In a blog post, Murray stated that the title is not “No Man’s Sky Lite,” noting that it incorporates all updates released since the game’s initial launch.
The iOS port will feature all previous expansions, though multiplayer and planetary settlements are omitted. Murray compared the mobile launch to the game’s original release on the Nintendo Switch, indicating that the studio plans to support iOS based on player feedback and numbers.
Hardware requirements and controls
The game will be compatible with the iPhone 11, third-generation iPad Air, and newer models. The download size is approximately 5GB.
Hello Games has implemented newly designed touch controls for the release. In addition, the version supports standard game controllers, screen casting, and mouse-and-keyboard input on the iPad. The studio also focused on optimization for battery life and thermodynamics to support extended play sessions.
At launch, No Man’s Sky will be “free to try,” though pricing details for the full version have not yet been clarified.
