New role at Netflix

Former Disney television communications chief Naomi Bulochnikov-Paul has been appointed as vice president of series communications at Netflix. Her new position begins on October 18, reporting directly to Netflix chief communications officer Dani Dudeck.

In this role, Bulochnikov-Paul will manage communications for the television portfolio. Her oversight covers scripted and unscripted series, documentary series, consumer products and experiences such as Netflix House, and emerging content fields including live programming, sports, games, and creator-focused content like podcasts.

Background and career history

Bulochnikov-Paul joins Netflix following an eight-year tenure at Disney. During her time heading Disney TV communications, she directed publicity across brands including ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Disney Kids & Family, Disney Television Studios, FX, Hulu Originals, National Geographic Content, platform distribution, and Disney Global Advertising. She also handled executive communications for Dana Walden during her tenure as Disney Entertainment co-chairman.

Insiders indicated that her departure from Disney, which occurred one day prior to her Netflix appointment, was voluntary and independent of broader company restructuring efforts. Her prior career experience includes communications roles at MTV Networks, an earlier stint at Netflix, Sony Pictures Television, and Current TV.

“Naomi brings 20 years of experience at the intersection of media and culture, and a sharp instinct for storytelling that captures the fandom and zeitgeist of the world’s most valuable entertainment brands,” said Dani Dudeck.
