Spotify and Joe Rogan have entered into a new multiyear licensing agreement, continuing a relationship that began in 2020. Under the agreement, Spotify handles ad sales and licensing for “The Joe Rogan Experience,” which is available across multiple services.

Agreement details and financial estimates

Financial terms of the agreement were not officially disclosed. However, the multiyear deal is similar to the one Rogan cut with Spotify in early 2024, and he is set to receive an estimated earnout of $250 million over the term, according to the Wall Street Journal, which cited anonymous sources.

“The partnership with Spotify has been an amazing fit, and they’re incredible to work with,” Rogan said in a statement. “I’m extremely happy and excited to continue with them for years to come.”

Jordan Newman, head of content partnerships at Spotify, stated that Rogan has built an enduring show that resonates with a massive global audience. Newman noted that Spotify’s podcast business has grown alongside the program since the partnership began.

Show history and reach

Spotify and Rogan first announced their partnership in 2020, when the podcast came to Spotify and later became exclusive to the platform. Rogan subsequently ended the exclusivity requirement in 2024.

In 2025, “The Joe Rogan Experience” was the top podcast on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts. It has remained the most-followed podcast on Spotify since 2020, with 18 million followers on the platform.

Launched in December 2009 by comedian Joe Rogan, the show features guests ranging from comedians, athletes, actors, and musicians to authors, scientists, and entrepreneurs. The program has published more than 2,500 episodes, each averaging two to three hours in length.
