Netflix is currently developing a series adaptation of Hannah Grace’s bestselling novel Icebreaker, which kicks off the Maple Hill book series. Production is underway on the college hockey romance drama, though a release date has not yet been set.
Cast and characters
Daisy Jelley (Poser, How To Have Sex) stars as Anastasia “Stassie” Allen, a transfer athlete aiming for Olympic gold. Connor Simos (Subversion) portrays Nate Hawkins, a campus star pursuing the NHL.
The ensemble cast also features Gabriel Tierney as Aaron, Auliʻi Cravalho as Lola, newcomer and professional athlete Peter Berry as Robbie, Chaneil Kular as JJ, Devin Craig as Henry, and Aidan Shaw as Russ.
Premise and background
The source material follows Stassie and Nate as their respective teams are forced to share a single ice rink following an accident. As the two athletes collide, discipline gives way to a dynamic where the only thing more dangerous than wanting to win is wanting each other.

Jade Halley Bartlett created the series and serves as an executive producer. Amanda Lasher acts as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Author Hannah Grace also executive produces alongside Alex Cooper, Matt Kaplan, and Mina Lefevre for Cooper’s Unwell Productions.
